In the second part of our Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) review we consider the turbulent market conditions and memories of recent losses that have tested capacity in the ILS market. During the 2020 renewal season pricing reverted to the highs of 2012 levels and there is widespread expectation for further improvements in 2021. This means higher expected returns for ILS investors. We’ve reviewed the ILS sector during 2019 and 2020 and now provide an update on all key metrics including return, risk, portfolio composition, capital flow, and COVID-19 impacts.
