Jacob is CIO of Antipodes, Lead PM of Global strategies and co-PM of the Emerging Markets strategy. He has responsibility for the firm-wide investment philosophy and process.
In 2015, Jacob leveraged his 20 years of investment management expertise to establish Antipodes, a renowned global asset manager with approximately A$10 billion in assets under management (AUM). Headquartered in Sydney, with investment teams located in London and Toronto, Antipodes specialises in a pragmatic value approach to investment. The experienced team searches the world for investment opportunities that are mispriced relative to their business resilience and growth profile and constructs portfolios with a strong focus on capital preservation.
Prior to Antipodes, Jacob spent 14 years at Platinum Asset Management where he was the Deputy Chief Investment Officer jointly responsible for the firm-wide investment process, and a Portfolio Manager of the flagship Platinum International Fund. During his time, he also served as Portfolio Manager for the Platinum Unhedged Fund and the Platinum Japan Fund prior to his departure.
Before joining Platinum, Jacob was Head of Technology and Emerging Industrials Research at UBS Warburg Australia. He commenced his investment career in 1994 at high conviction, value oriented Australian equities manager, Tyndall Australia, where he was hired and trained as an investment analyst by industry doyen Peter Pedley.
Jacob holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Sydney.
