Alvin Tan is a Principal Consultant at Frontier, having joined the firm in 2013. Prior to joining Frontier, Alvin worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was a portfolio manager and economist within their Quantitative Investment Strategies group. Alvin also previously held roles at the Reserve Bank of Australia, Macquarie Funds Management and AllianceBernstein. Andrew Kemp joined Frontier in June 2016 as a Senior Consultant and is a member of the Debt, Alternatives and Innovation team and leads Frontier’s fixed income and currency research program. Andrew has around twenty years of experience in the asset management industry both domestically and globally, having worked in Australia, Singapore and the UK. Andrew was Head of Fixed Income at DBS Asset Management (Singapore) for three years and prior to that spent a decade as Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Alliance Bernstein Australia. Andrew joins Frontier from Chimaera Capital, where he was the Director of Asset Management, most recently in Melbourne, but chiefly in the Capital Management division in Singapore. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Otago University (NZ) and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from Finsia.

Before joining Frontier, Andrew spent seven years at Mercer in their Institutional Wealth business providing advice to clients on a broad range of superannuation and investment related issues. Prior to this, he also worked for Mercer in the United Kingdom where he spent four years in an actuarial consulting role. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science (Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics) from Queen’s University Belfast. He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary.

Anselm Loh joined Frontier as an Associate in 2015 and provides investment research and consulting advice to a range of clients. He is also a member of the Equities Research Team and is responsible for manager research across Australian and international equities. Prior to joining Frontier, Anselm was a Senior Associate at CIMB Private Banking’s (Malaysia) Investment Solutions team, where he was responsible for research on Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong equities in addition to the development of investment strategies for high net-worth individuals. He was previously part of CIMB Investment Bank’s Graduate program, where he completed rotations across Product Solutions (creation and maintenance of trust funds, including manager research), Global Sales & Transaction Banking (money sales) and Consumer Sales & Distribution (sales management) divisions. Chris Trevillyan is Director of Investment Strategy at Frontier having joined the firm in 2004.  His responsibilities at Frontier include leadership of the Capital Markets and Asset Allocation Research Team, providing consulting support to Frontier’s clients, and involvement with investment and manager research.  Chris is the Chair of Frontier’s Investment Committee and oversees the firm’s major projects.  He has previously filled the leadership roles of Frontier’s infrastructure specialisation team and Quantitative Solutions Group. Prior to Frontier Chris was employed by Primary Superannuation Services as a Finance and Business Associate working with industry superannuation funds, and spent time working in London with Close Brothers and Granville Baird private equity firms. David joined Frontier in 2015 as a Senior Consultant and leads the Retirement Solutions Group. He provides investment advice to a range of clients and conducts research in the area of retirement strategy and product development for superannuation funds. Prior to Frontier David spent nineteen years at Mercer in roles that included global product management in the areas of Investment Data and Analytics and Wealth Management and in the design and implementation of Mercer's GIMD database. He also worked with Mercer in London as the Head of Investment Information Services for Europe and was a member of the Executive Group responsible for the operation of the UK practice. As Director, Fiona provides strategic advice across the Frontier client base, is lead consultant to several clients, is a member of the Frontier Investment Committee and heads our GARDS team. Fiona is also a Non-Executive Director at the Link Group and with Prospa Advance Pty Ltd. Fiona joined Industry Fund Services (IFS) in 1994 as a foundation staff member and in 1997 took responsibility for the management of IFS’ asset consulting business which became Frontier in 2000 with Fiona as Managing Director. Prior experience includes working in asset consulting with Towers Perrin and completing econometric modelling for Queensland Treasury. In 2013, Fiona was named as the inaugural “Woman of the Year” in the Money Management/Super Review Women in Financial Services Awards, as well as one of the top 10 global Asset Consultants by the US-based financial journal Chief Investment Officer from 2013 to 2016 inclusive in each of the last four years. She was also announced as a winner in The Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards for 2016 in the Board/management category. Greg is a member of Frontier’s Investment Committee, Manager Ratings Committee and Chairs the Responsible Investment Working Group. Prior to Frontier, Greg was employed by Mercer where he headed the Melbourne based investment consulting team. He worked with a range of institutional clients including super funds, insurance companies, endowments and funds management businesses, advising on investment strategy, portfolio construction and manager selection. Prior to joining Mercer in 2008, Greg spent ten years at Standard & Poor’s in a number of roles. He was a Director and Head of the Manager Research business and had previously headed research in fixed income and alternatives. Greg had also worked for five years at National Mutual, with both the Funds Management and the Corporate Superannuation businesses. Justine O’Connell joined Frontier as an Associate in 2005 before relocating to London in 2008 where she worked for Watson Wyatt as an Investment Consultant. On her return to Melbourne in 2010, she re-joined Frontier as a Consultant before being promoted again to Principal Consultant in 2014. Justine leads the Debt, Alternatives and Innovation research area at Frontier, co-leads a large super fund client and is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Justine’s responsibilities at Watson Wyatt included assisting large UK corporate clients in developing scheme structures and advising on strategic asset allocation and manager structure and selection. Prior to 2005, Justine worked for Goldman Sachs in London for over three years in the bank loan trading area. Kim Bowater is Director of Consulting at Frontier Advisors, having joined the firm in 2002. She has 22 years industry experience. Kim is responsible for overseeing Frontier's delivery of advice and research through our consulting team. She is a member of Frontier's Investment Committee and Chair of Frontier's Client Portfolio Review Committee. She is also the lead consultant for several large superannuation funds. KC is a member of Frontier’s Capital Markets and Asset Allocation team. KC was previously employed at Fairfax Media as the Head of Research and Valuation Analyst for BRW Magazine. His responsibilities included researching and valuing assets for the magazine’s various articles and lists. These include the BRW Rich 200, Executive Rich and Young Rich list. He has also published business articles in print and online for Fairfax's various mastheads. KC has also interned in the Advisory division of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Lily Zou joined Frontier in 2018 as an Associate as part of Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees’ highly regarded Super Grads Program. Her responsibilities include providing analytical support to a number of clients as well as undertaking manager and investment research, with a focus on domestic and international equities. Lily is also a member of our Responsible Investment Group. Prior to joining Frontier, Lily worked at National Australia Bank as a Credit Assessment Officer fulfilling credit analysis and financial report analysis responsibilities. Lily was also part of the Bank of Communications’ Graduate program in China, where she completed rotations across several departments including Debt and Accounting, and also has held a range of intern positions with Ernst & Young and Standard Chartered Bank. Lily has a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from Hong Kong Baptist University and Master of Finance from the University of Melbourne. She is currently a candidate in the CFA program.

Michael Sofer is a Senior Consultant and leads the firm’s Quantitative Solutions Group. His team develops risk management strategies, quantitative tools and data management processes for clients. QSG is responsible for the analytical modules on Frontier’s Partners Platform. Michael is also an infrastructure specialist. He works with clients to design and build infrastructure portfolios. He advises on direct transactions and manages the group’s global infrastructure research database, RADIAS. Michael completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (Hons) at Monash University. He graduated Class Dux for Engineering and received the University Medal for Commerce. Michael Sommers is a Principal Consultant and joined Frontier in 2013. His responsibilities include undertaking manager research of liquid and illiquid alternatives strategies as well as derivative strategies, including providing specialist advice for these areas to clients. Michael also provides risk management and generalist consulting advice. Prior to joining Frontier, Michael worked in London for seven years in a number of trading floor based senior risk management roles at CIBC, Lloyds and HBOS. His roles involved advising on the risk and performance characteristics of diverse portfolios and investment strategies. He was also involved in regulatory and risk governance related work at a senior level. Prior to working in London, Michael worked in credit risk modelling at ANZ in Melbourne. Tom is a member of the Capital Markets and Asset Allocation team where he assists with various research activities including valuation modelling for foreign currency.  He maintains a strong interest in ESG aspects of investment with a particular focus on climate change impacts.  Tom also undertakes quantitative analysis and modelling within the Quantitative Solutions Group and has been involved in the development of several Partners Platform applications. Prior to joining Frontier, Tom consulted to Telstra, where he provided quantitative analysis of pricing proposals. Prior to his engagement with Telstra, Tom worked for Towers Perrin in its actuarial consulting business. He is a past Rainmaker Australian Superannuation Marketer of the Year and has won multiple industry awards for marketing and communication at each of the funds he has worked for. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from the Queensland University of Technology, a Diploma of Superannuation Management, and an Associate Diploma in Marketing. William Leong is a Principal Consultant, having joined Frontier in 2003. William currently provides investment advice to a range of Frontier clients, as well as undertaking manager and investment research as it relates to client portfolios. He is also the Chair of Frontier’s Manager Ratings Committee, member of Frontier’s Client Relationship Management Group and additionally leads a group of investment staff within the firm. In his time at Frontier, William has held the role of Head of Global Equities research and has been a member of Frontier’s Investment Committee. William previously worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (now BlackRock) in a number analytical roles. Prior to this, he was employed by Mercer Human Resource Consulting in the superannuation division working on the Foster’s Group Superannuation Plan.
