Alvin also previously held roles at the Reserve Bank of Australia, Macquarie Funds Management and AllianceBernstein. Andrew Kemp joined Frontier in June 2016 as a Senior Consultant and is a member of the Debt, Alternatives and Innovation team and leads Frontier’s fixed income and currency research program. Andrew has around twenty years of experience in the asset management industry both domestically and globally, having worked in Australia, Singapore and the UK. Andrew was Head of Fixed Income at DBS Asset Management (Singapore) for three years and prior to that spent a decade as Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Alliance Bernstein Australia. Andrew joins Frontier from Chimaera Capital, where he was the Director of Asset Management, most recently in Melbourne, but chiefly in the Capital Management division in Singapore. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Otago University (NZ) and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from Finsia.

Benjamin is responsible for undertaking manager and investment research, with a focus on property and infrastructure.  Benjamin also holds responsibility the firm’s global infrastructure research database, RADIAS. Prior to joining Frontier, Benjamin gained experience as a Project Coordinator with Quanco, a boutique business consultancy based in Los Angeles, USA. Benjamin has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Management) from the University of Melbourne and is currently undertaking a Masters of Applied Finance at Macquarie University. Chris Trevillyan is Director of Investment Strategy at Frontier having joined the firm in 2004.  His responsibilities at Frontier include leadership of the Capital Markets and Asset Allocation Research Team, providing consulting support to Frontier’s clients, and involvement with investment and manager research.  Chris is the Chair of Frontier’s Investment Committee and oversees the firm’s major projects.  He has previously filled the leadership roles of Frontier’s infrastructure specialisation team and Quantitative Solutions Group. Prior to Frontier Chris was employed by Primary Superannuation Services as a Finance and Business Associate working with industry superannuation funds, and spent time working in London with Close Brothers and Granville Baird private equity firms. Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, is a qualified CPA and has completed a Master of Applied Finance at the University of Melbourne.

Damian has been Frontier CEO since 2011 and has responsibility for the development and implementation of the firm's strategic and operational plans. As CEO, Damian is responsible for the management of all business aspects of Frontier, including strategic planning and implementation, company financial matters, operational matters, compliance and all Board and shareholder matters. Prior to joining Frontier in 2011, Damian spent 14 years at Industry Fund Services, joining as an Investment Consultant, and eventually becoming Chief Executive Officer of the key investment management subsidiary, Industry Funds Management, which he lead for 11 years. Before this, Damian worked in the Asset Consulting Services division of Towers Perrin. He has also worked as a Senior Tutor in Finance at the University of Melbourne. Damian holds a Master of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) from the Chisholm Institute.

David joined Frontier in 2015 as a Senior Consultant and leads the Retirement Solutions Group. He conducts research and provides advice in the area of retirement strategy and product development for superannuation funds. Prior to Frontier David spent nineteen years at Mercer in roles that included global product management in the areas of Investment Data and Analytics and Wealth Management and in the design and implementation of Mercer's GIMD database. He also worked with Mercer in London as the Head of Investment Information Services for Europe and was a member of the Executive Group responsible for the operation of the UK practice. Prior to joining Mercer, David was at Towers Perrin for around six years, working with a number of clients in an investment advisory and research capacity. Fiona is one of the world's most respected investment consultants. As Director, Fiona is lead consultant to several clients, is a member of the Frontier Investment Committee and heads our GARDS team. Fiona joined Industry Fund Services (IFS) in 1994 as a foundation staff member and in 1997 took responsibility for the management of IFS’ asset consulting business which became Frontier in 2000 with Fiona as Managing Director. Prior experience includes working in asset consulting with Towers Perrin and completing econometric modelling for Queensland Treasury. In 2013, Fiona was named as the inaugural “Woman of the Year” in the Money Management/Super Review Women in Financial Services Awards, as well as one of the top 10 global Asset Consultants by the US-based financial journal Chief Investment Officer in each of the last four years. She was also announced as a winner in The Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards for 2016 in the Board/management category. Fiona holds a Bachelor of Economics with first class Honours from James Cook University, receiving a University Medal, a Master of Finance from RMIT and is a Graduate of the AICD.

Prior to Frontier, Greg was employed by Mercer where he headed the Melbourne based investment consulting team. He worked with a range of institutional clients including super funds, insurance companies, endowments and funds management businesses, advising on investment strategy, portfolio construction and manager selection. Greg was a voting member of the Australian ratings committee and a member of the fixed Interest and insurance specialist teams. Prior to joining Mercer in 2008, Greg spent ten years at Standard & Poor’s in a number of roles. He was a Director and Head of the Manager Research business and had previously headed research in fixed income and alternatives. Greg had also worked for five years at National Mutual, with both the Funds Management and the Corporate Superannuation businesses. She is also a member of the Governance team and leads the Partners Platform, Frontier’s online research, analytics and compliance platform. These roles follow her experience as a Principal Consultant within the firm, during which Kerrie managed the advisory relationships with a number of superannuation fund clients. Kerrie joined Industry Fund Services in 1997 and transferred to Frontier at its inception in July 2000. Kerrie’s previous experience has been in marketing and consulting positions within the retail sector and in events management. Kerrie holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from Finsia. Kim Bowater is Director of Consulting at Frontier Advisors, having joined the firm in 2002. Kim is responsible for overseeing Frontier’s delivery of advice and research through our consulting team. She is a member of Frontier’s Investment Committee and Chair of Frontier’s Client Portfolio Review Committee. She is also the lead consultant for several large superannuation funds. Over time, Kim has held a number of roles at Frontier including managing Frontier’s research program, leading research teams including alternatives, currency and infrastructure, providing investment advice to clients, and founding Frontier’s retirement solutions group. She remains a senior contributor to Frontier’s debt, alternatives and innovation research team and retirement solutions group. Kim was previously employed at Deloitte in its advisory services business, and at Towers Perrin in both actuarial/employee benefits and global custody consulting. Kim is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours in Mathematical Statistics from Monash University. Kim is a member of the CFA Institute and a Director of IMCA.

Marcus Nelson joined Frontier in 2017 as a Consultant in the Quantitative Solutions Group. His responsibilities cover assisting in the development of risk management strategies and quantitative tools for clients and the design of analytical modules on Frontier’s Partners Platform. Prior to joining Frontier, Marcus spent six years at hedge fund manager, Kaiser Trading Group. During this period he worked in both technical and client facing roles across execution trading, investment research and risk management. Prior to this, Marcus spent two years at Ernst & Young. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance and Accounting) from the University of Melbourne, is a CAIA Charterholder and is currently a candidate in the CFA program.

Martin provides consulting support to a number of clients and undertakes investment and manager research. Prior to joining Frontier, Martin worked at Starfish Ventures, an Australian venture capital fund manager focused on high growth life sciences, information technology and clean technology companies. Prior to this Martin has worked in technology commercialisation at the University of Melbourne, virology research at Murdoch University, and was involved in teaching undergraduate students whilst engaged as a PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia. Martin has a Master of Applied Finance through Macquarie University, a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology and a Bachelor of Science with first class honours.

Melinda also undertakes manager research with a focus on both domestic and international equities. Prior to joining Frontier, Melinda was a Consultant in Financial Services Taxation at Ernst & Young, where she was responsible for assisting superannuation funds and general corporate entities with tax compliance and tax advice. Previously, Melinda worked at Credit Suisse in Equities Research and on the trading desk. Michael Sofer is a Senior Consultant and leads the firm’s Quantitative Solutions Group. His team develops risk management strategies, quantitative tools and data management processes for clients. QSG is responsible for the analytical modules on Frontier’s Partners Platform. Michael is also an infrastructure specialist. He works with clients to design and build infrastructure portfolios. He advises on direct transactions and manages the group’s global infrastructure research database, RADIAS. Michael completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (Hons) at Monash University. He graduated Class Dux for Engineering and received the University Medal for Commerce. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Michael Sommers joined Frontier in 2013 as a Senior Consultant. Prior to joining Frontier, Michael worked in London for seven years in a number of trading floor based senior risk management roles at CIBC, Lloyds and HBOS. He was also involved in regulatory and risk governance related work at a senior level. Prior to working in London, Michael worked in credit risk modelling at ANZ in Melbourne. Tom is a member of the Manager Ratings Committee and Investment Committee. Tom was previously employed by Beveridge Williams as an Environmental Geologist within its Environmental Division. His primary role was the project management of small and medium scale remediation programs and contamination assessments of commercial and industrial properties prior to redevelopment. William Leong is a Principal Consultant, having joined Frontier in 2003. William currently provides investment advice to a range of Frontier clients, as well as undertaking manager and investment research as it relates to client portfolios. He is also the Chair of Frontier’s Manager Ratings Committee, and additionally leads a group of investment staff within the firm. In his time at Frontier, William has held the role of Head of Global Equities research and has been a member of Frontier’s Investment Committee. William previously worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (now BlackRock) in a number analytical roles. Prior to this, he was employed by Mercer Human Resource Consulting in the superannuation division working on the Foster’s Group Superannuation Plan. William holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) with Honours degree from Monash University, a Certificate of Superannuation Management from ASFA, and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investments. He is a member of the Equities Research Team and is responsible for investment research across Australian and international equities. Zong is also responsible for advising clients on manager performance and preparing investment reports. Before joining Frontier, Zong worked in the Transfer Pricing team at Ernst & Young, where he worked with multinationals on tax compliance and structuring. Previously, Zong also worked as a tutor for the Investments and Business Finance courses at the University of Melbourne.
